St. Helena Catholic Church, St. Helena, CA

Restoration of "Pieta" plaster statue.
St. Helena Catholic Church, St. Helena, CA

The statue had been painted numerous times. Careful stripping revealed original paint schemes, gold leaf, and patterns.

The painted faces remained intact; they were sealed with a reversible varnish, and in-painted.
